Megan conducts civil rights and workplace misconduct investigations for colleges, universities, school districts, and employers across a wide range of industries in the public and private sector. She is a certified Civil Rights Investigator by the Association of Title IX Administrators (ATIXA) and investigates claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, bullying, and workplace misconduct. She is a pre-approved Sexual Misconduct Investigator for the United Educators ProResponse Expert Services Benefit. She regularly serves as the Superintendent’s Hearing Officer in disciplinary proceedings for school districts throughout the Hudson Valley, and as a Title IX Hearing Officer or Panel Chair for colleges.
Megan’s practice also includes guardianship, real estate and business matters. She has experience representing healthcare facilities in guardianship proceedings, and she also serves on the Part 36 list as a Court Evaluator and attorney for individuals alleged to be incapacitated.
Before co-founding Dizon & Shedden, P.C., Megan represented school districts in litigation, student disciplinary hearings, and tax certiorari proceedings. She also defended healthcare providers and facilities in medical malpractice and negligence actions, represented landlords in eviction proceedings, and handled general litigation matters for individuals and businesses.
A former Division I rower, Megan is the Chair and Founder of the Orange County Rowing Association and previously coached for the Arlington Rowing Association.
Megan lives in Newburgh with her husband and their children. In her free time, she enjoys baking, spending time with family and friends and exploring new restaurants.
